Capacity Building
This service strengthens the wider network of professionals and organizations that serve victims and vulnerable populations across American Samoa. EPIC recognizes that no single agency can meet the full range of needs in any community, and that the quality of help a survivor receives often depends on whoever picks up the phone first.
Capacity Building typically takes the form of training (on topics like trauma-informed care, mandated reporting, confidentiality, and cultural responsiveness), technical assistance for partner agencies developing new programs or policies, and collaborative learning opportunities that bring service providers together to share what works.
The result is a more skilled, coordinated, and consistent system of care across the territory — so that whether a survivor first reaches a school counselor, a hospital nurse, or a village leader, the response meets a shared standard of competence and compassion.
